Vonage customer service

I have ordered Vonage service and received equipment in three days. After quick inspection I phoned to Vonage Tech service and tried to explain that we needed a "wireless" system to accommodate all phone outlets in house. Vonage cancelation is a tricky process, Vonage did not cancel the phone disconnect order with my provider & my service has been interrupted until Vonage handles necessary paperwork. Vonage will not assume any responsibility for poor salesmanship, poor customer service, poor technical assistance nor will Vonage cooperate in restoration of my original telephone provider. I would recommend that Vonage be carefully considered before making a call to subscribe. The funds charged against my credit card have not yet been returned--we are hoping that Vonage will at least protect their integrity in the marketplace. read more...

Vonage stinks

I am a systems integrator. I work with data, phone, TV and security systems everyday. I set up systems for colleges and hotels. I tried Vonage for our new office phone system. I could not get it to ring through consistently. Calls were not completed, some were dropped. For one week I had no phones at all. Customers would write e-mail or call my cell phone to ask if we were still in business. They would get messages saying that my number was disconnected or that it was not valid. I spent over 11 hours on-line or on hold trying to get help, most of it on hold. When I called to cancel service I told them that I needed to keep the number and it would take a few days for the phone company to connect me again. They cut me off right then. I had no phone service. Qwest could not reconnect me with that number unless it was active. I had to spend 3 hours trying to get Vonage to activate the number again. Then they gave me a temporary number for 3 days, which no one knew to call, before I got my old number and same crappy service back. When I was finally connected to a land line again they gave me a $12.50 credit for my troubles. Vonage should be put out of business. They ruined mine for almost a month. They have a cruddy product, lousy service and tech support and terrible business practices. If you have to choose between two cans and a string and Vonage, take the cans and string. So good bye Vonage!

I have had Vonage VoIP for about 2 years and I haven’t had any problem with them until lately. They are charging us up for taxes, and I had to order a new device because the old had basically gone out. They were wanting my old device back and wanting me to pay for the shipping back to them when I had to pay for the shipping of the new device to me. Then i have been having problems and they were supposed to credit me back for one month, and they never did. I am going to left Vonage because not only I have problem with overcharging. Excellent! Friendly customer service, able to solve my out-of-the-ordinary requests nicely. The only real problem I had was a few weeks ago when the adapter they shipped quit working. In general good VoIP provider, but only one problem… I use calling cards to make international calls. But, VoIP Your Life doesn't allow the 1-800 number of the calling cards to go through! When I asked them, they didn't have a proper response. If they are blocking toll-free calling card numbers, at the least, they owe to inform the customers upfront OR provide the same international rates which is got from a calling card! read more...

Vonage drive me crazy! We ordered the Vonage VoIP package that came with the phones, software, etc. It did not work at all for us. I spent hours on the phone with customer support trying to make Vonage work. I asked for the service to be canceled, but instead of this Vonage has charged me at $150 for another year, in spite of the fact their product did not work for us. Vonage is the worst voip service I ever deal with. Be careful, after deal with polite sales person you will meet ugly customer service and rude tech support. My business is based on business voip calls and I can’t afford to have my lines down. I couldn’t accept having my phone service down for week because they have to send a router out to me.
