I have been with Packet8 voip since May 2005. Quick ship of ATA, easy setup. It worked good until Sept 2006. I often had to reset the box. I had Vonage for a year prior to this, and simply put, Vonage was way better with everything, except price. After Sept 2006 my service and sound quality became poor. Tons of echoes, they constantly blamed my cable provider. Yet speed and size test pinging my cable provider were excellent. People would call and not get anything. I would dial and often still do not get anything. Oh well, after our one year, I am gone. Hate to say it but I had Vonage and thye were better. I had ATTs VOIP for 1 month alos (they did not have my area code in their early days) Both had much better connecions. Packet8 was polite and tried to be helpful so I have no complaints. But quality is poor. READ the PACKET8 forums on packet8s site and notice the ton of complaints starting in the fall of 2006
