Wrost voip service i have ever seen! Unlimited calls don't mean unlimited calls!

published 525 days ago, submitted by Alice Alice 525 days ago

I'm having this confuse with voip.com voip provider. Voip.com was good at start, but i got this email... At voip.com, our goal is to provide the best Internet Phone service in the industry. In order to provide the best possible service to all of our Customers, our residential plans are provided for residential use and for no other use. Based on your current usage, your account has been flagged for further review by our billing department. If you are utilizing this service for business use, please upgrade your service now to avoid any penalties. Our Small Business 1000 plan provides an included 1000 minutes per month (to the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico) as well as our premium features, such as Voicemail, Caller ID with Name, and Anonymous Call Rejection, and many more. The Small Business 1000 plan is $18.95 per month with overage usage billed at only 2.1 cents per minute. To change to this plan, please reply to this email and our Customer Service staff will make the change for you. Thank you for choosing Voip.com. Sincerely, The Customer Support Team at that time i used 2334 mins. My son was calling his girlfriend... but now they are saying i could get a pently for that and my account is flaged. so with that said UNLIMITED CALLING IS NOT UNLIMITED CALLING FOR VOIP.COM! i open a support ticket and here is some of the replys. "In reviewing your case, the amount of minutes you are using during each billing cycle does not fall under the average residential usage. Your minutes used falls under commercial usage. This usually means the account was moved to a restricted plan due to a number of minutes indicating "commercial" usage. Commercial usage is defined as more than 2500 minutes used in a single month, or more than 1800 minutes used in two consecutive months." so this means this is NOT unlimited calling, you only have 2500 minutes per mouth or u can even have more 1800 for two months... so i asked voip.com "I just went on my call logs and the most mins. that was used was on one or two numbers, that was my son calling his girlfriend... so there is no possbile way that i can be using my serivce for commercial usage. If you have any questions about this please let me know. and i would like to know how long it will take for this to be settled. and also, dont i have the freedom to call anyone? I thought this was unlimited calling?, right? please let me know." and the reply i got back was "The Company may make such determination based on the Customer's usage patterns and other criteria determined by the Company to differentiate between residential use and business use...” but as you can see i did not get a real reply for my questions.

WARNING: VOIP.COM IS NOT FOR UNLIMITED CALLING! IF YOU USE MORE THEN 2500 MINUTES, IT IS BETTER OFF TO GO ELSEWHERE. BUT IF YOU LESS THEN THAT (I.E. 1000 OR LESS) VOIP.COM IS YOUR BEST BET.

It worked for 3 days. And dead ever. Called tech service, all they answer is that "I will create a tech support ticket for you" and never have solved the problem. I had many go and back emails and 3 times of calling for tech support. TOTALLY USELESS. DON'T BUY IT. read more...

I recommend it

I ordered it and got an email that same day with my tracking number. Two days later the adapter came and while I was at work my 10 year old son followed the pictures and set it up. The quality is good. I haven't had any need to call customer service so I rated it average. read more...

Run away from voip.com

published 563 days ago, submitted by Cassandra Cassandra 563 days ago

The service worked fine. I could hear people well. Got calls and such. However, the first issue was that my number would not transfer. And they kept telling me it was Vonage's fault. And at least Vonage would talk to me about it, and tried to help. And then suddenly I was getting the same error message that the address wasn't lining up correctly and my credit card stopped going through! And then it was difficult to reach people. And in the last call, the rep. told me to file a support claim. Those things are a JOKE. You file a claim and get a computer-generated reply that you could have found already online. They want to charge me for a month and a half of service AND for cancelling the service ($40, by the way!) after I spent HOURS on the phone with them trying to resolve both issues. Very, very frustrated. Is there a lawyer out there who wants to do a class action suit? How can they hold you to their TERMS when they didn't provide the service??? read more...

Voip.com changed my plan without my permission

published 564 days ago, submitted by rogerdthornton rogerdthornton 564 days ago

I switched to voip.com in june of this year and have had nothing but problems with there billing service and support. They billed me my normal monthly bill for 2 months then the next 2 months they billed me 50-40 plus my monthly bill and my bill is different every month. It took them over a month to setup my virtual numbers then because of my usage they threaten to switch my unlimited monthly usage to a small business and of course a month later they did. There prices are great but there only suggestions this is what I have been billed since June. There customer support is ok there respond times can be days sometimes sooner but not on average. I have lost many phone conversations while using there service even though my internet connection was still working good. When I inquired about the extra 90.00 a month charge they told me it was for the cost of setup and the router but now that I am going to cancel they still are requiring that I return the router or they will charge me for it again. I hope that you can warn you viewers of this policy of there’s before they make the mistake of following your advise as I did and tried this company and expecting the same service I got from vonage. read more...
