Vonage customer service

published 297 days ago, submitted by Nicole Nicole 297 days ago

I have ordered Vonage service and received equipment in three days. After quick inspection I phoned to Vonage Tech service and tried to explain that we needed a "wireless" system to accommodate all phone outlets in house. Vonage cancelation is a tricky process, Vonage did not cancel the phone disconnect order with my provider & my service has been interrupted until Vonage handles necessary paperwork. Vonage will not assume any responsibility for poor salesmanship, poor customer service, poor technical assistance nor will Vonage cooperate in restoration of my original telephone provider. I would recommend that Vonage be carefully considered before making a call to subscribe. The funds charged against my credit card have not yet been returned--we are hoping that Vonage will at least protect their integrity in the marketplace. read more...

Vonage stinks

published 299 days ago, submitted by ELoss 299 days ago

I am a systems integrator. I work with data, phone, TV and security systems everyday. I set up systems for colleges and hotels. I tried Vonage for our new office phone system. I could not get it to ring through consistently. Calls were not completed, some were dropped. For one week I had no phones at all. Customers would write e-mail or call my cell phone to ask if we were still in business. They would get messages saying that my number was disconnected or that it was not valid. I spent over 11 hours on-line or on hold trying to get help, most of it on hold. When I called to cancel service I told them that I needed to keep the number and it would take a few days for the phone company to connect me again. They cut me off right then. I had no phone service. Qwest could not reconnect me with that number unless it was active. I had to spend 3 hours trying to get Vonage to activate the number again. Then they gave me a temporary number for 3 days, which no one knew to call, before I got my old number and same crappy service back. When I was finally connected to a land line again they gave me a $12.50 credit for my troubles. Vonage should be put out of business. They ruined mine for almost a month. They have a cruddy product, lousy service and tech support and terrible business practices. If you have to choose between two cans and a string and Vonage, take the cans and string. You'll be happier with the service. read more...

Vonage drive me crazy!

published 366 days ago, submitted by Harry Harry 366 days ago

Vonage drive me crazy! We ordered the Vonage VoIP package that came with the phones, software, etc. It did not work at all for us. I spent hours on the phone with customer support trying to make Vonage work. I asked for the service to be canceled, but instead of this Vonage has charged me at $150 for another year, in spite of the fact their product did not work for us. They are an example of corporate evil. I am posting this voip review in hopes that others will not be ripped off by this company. read more...

Vonage is crap

published 405 days ago, submitted by Jedediah Jedediah 405 days ago

Vonage is the worst voip service I ever deal with. Be careful, after deal with polite sales person you will meet ugly customer service and rude tech support. My business is based on business voip calls and I can’t afford to have my lines down. I couldn’t accept having my phone service down for week because they have to send a router out to me. Even when it work I have to reset the modem almost every single day. Run away from Vonage! read more...

Vonage incoming calls result to one way audio

published 525 days ago, submitted by Leroy Leroy 525 days ago

One out of 10 or 15 incoming calls reisult to one way audio (I can not hear the caller, but the caller can hear me. Spent countless hours with vonage support. The support did a lot of things (change to phone 2, change audio gain, set up a debug, etc) which broke the line even further. Now on top of the above problem, the audio is getting garbled on every call (probably because the support hack too much on my line, and can not get it back ) Do not use vonage voip!! stay away!! read more...

Vonage Service...

published 528 days ago, submitted by Lawrence Lawrence 528 days ago

When replacement of a cable modem-gateway device was performed by the Internet Provider (Comcast), my home network and VoIP services were badly disrupted. But when I called Vonage for assistance in working around the problem for the phone services, I was cut-off after extensive waits every time I contacted technical support! That alone tells me that their service is not ready for "prime time". And they are the largest out there!? read more...

Don't sign up vonage contract!

published 532 days ago, submitted by Jack Jack 532 days ago

If you are thinking about signing up for Vonage service. I WOULD NOT DO IT!!! Here is my story as to why. I signed up for Vonage to save money, considering it was half the cost of my local company including long distance. However, I have had nothing but problems with the phone service. The problems ranges form continually dropping calls to the people I was talking to not being able to hear me at all when I could hear them. When I spoke with customer service about these issues each time they tried to blame it on my in house wiring. However, I proved them wrong each time by bypassing my internal home wiring and still had the same issues. They were unable to solve the problem so I started the process to switch back to my local line carrier. At this point Vonage would not release my line even though my new carrier had authorization for it. Not only that they charged me for the next month of service (when my account had already been closed) and they charged me a $40 cancellation fee. After may unsuccessful tries to reach their billing department I finally got a person who told me I had to speak with someone in their “Advanced Billing Department” but of course they where currently not working even though it was 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The service sucks, the customer service sucks, and if you want to cancel your service, good luck getting it done without major problems and fees. read more...

Love my Vonage

published 536 days ago, submitted by Winston Winston 536 days ago

I got vonage after finding out I could get a virtual line for family in Canada to call me. I was a little concerned since I had never used anything but traditional line service previously. The ONLY time I've ever had problems is when my cable went out a couple of times. But with the setup I have, calls went to my cell phone. I would never switch from Vonage, but now I'm moving to South Carolina and the area I'm moving to doesn't have a local number through Vonage. I'm going to have to either use traditional or another Voip for my local number, but I'm still keeping my Vonage hoping they'll get me a local number there soon. I LOVE my Vonage. When I had to order another line and unit for my travelling husband, customer service was delightful and they always help set things up, they walk you right through it. It's going to be hard to use another service after this! read more...

Vonage cheap, yes, but it sucks

published 537 days ago, submitted by Harris Harris 537 days ago

The sound quality is horrendous, extremely staticy, frequently only one way communication is possible. Very rarely it works as expected. Overall, an absolute waste of space. I was sick of paying through the nose for service from a real phone company, but at least with the Ma Bell spin-off I got what I paid for, with vonage I get static and one-way communication. Very sad. read more...
